Submissions Guidelines
The Crown Heights Review welcomes submissions by students and alumni of Medgar Evers College.
All submissions must be original and previously unpublished. Our response time is 1-2 months.
Send submissions to Crownheightsreview@mec.cuny.edu via attachment.
Please do not paste your work on the body of your e-mail.
Art Work (photographs/paintings): Maximum 10 individual images.
Creative Non-Fiction: Maximum 2,500 words
Drama: (Monologues/One-Acts): Maximum 10 pages
Essays: Maximum 2,500 words in standard essay format (double-spaced, MLA Style)
Fiction (includes Flash Fiction): Maximum 2,500 words
Poetry: 5-10 pages of 1 - 10 poems.
Reportage (includes but not limited to current cultural or community events): 2500 words
Reviews (Books/Music/Movies/Cultural or Community Events): Maximum 2,500 words
For All Submissions*
Documents should be in Word or PDF.
Please use Times New Roman font, size 12.
Include your name, title of the work, and page numbers on your submission cover page.
Include a one to two sentence bio about the author.
If the submission is an academic essay with references, please include Works Cited at the end.
All works should not exceed maximum length except with permission of editors.
Please identify the type of submission on the subject line on your e-mail (e.g., "Essay Submission).
Copyright reverts to the author upon publication, though the Crown Heights Review should always be credited as the original source.
